Finn Hudson

Finn Hudson is one of the main characters of Glee. He is an alumni of William Mckinely High School and former co-captain of the New Directions and quarterback of the football team. Finn risks alienation by the football team after joining the Glee Club at the beginning of the series.

Biography

Early Life:

Finn was raised by only his mother as his father, who was a Unites States Marine, was believed to of died in a war in Iraq. However it is mentioned later on that the real reason his father died was because of drug overdose, it is also shown in later episodes that his mother never really gets over the loss of her husband. Finn first discovered his passion for singing after his encounter with a lawn specialist who was dating his mother at the time, this was the first time Finn had realised he was special and good at something. Throughout his younger years he struggled to make his mother happy and proud of him

Season 1

Pilot

In pilot Finn is the quarter back of the football team, which is a role that he takes very seriously and he cares much about his popularity so much so he involves in bullying the less popular kids in the school. Finn starts out by dating Quinn Fabray who is the most popular girl in the school. After Finn found his love for music and singing after a lawn specialist who was dating his mother at the time and then went on to a younger woman, much to his mothers anger Finn made it his number one priority to make his mother happy and proud. When William who is the spanish teacher and new director to the glee club overheard Finn singing in the boys showers after practice planted marijuana in his locker and balckmails him into joining the glee club as their new male lead. Afraid that his mother will find out that he had pot in his locker, he agrees. When joining the glee club the football team aren’t so happy with his decision. However Finn discovers he actually does like glee club and finds himself strangely attracted to fellow glee club member Rachel berry. At the end of the episode he is seen performing Don’t Stop Believin’ along with the other glee club members, this then encourages Mr. Scheuster to carry on with glee club.

Showmance

In showmance as rachel is shown talking to Will, Finn walks up to her and offers to help her with her suitcase which is full of sheet music. Later on in the episode we see Rachel listening in to Quinn and Finn’s conversation by their lockers over popularity and Finn joining the glee club, he tells Quinn that she is making to big of a deal over it, so she decides if finn quits the glee club then she will let him touch her breasts. He then tells her he can’t as he wants to carry on doing glee club because he is happy doing it. Quinn then states that people are calling him gay and then that makes her his gay beard. He tells her to relax and that everything will work itself out. In glee club when they are dancing to Le Freak Finn makes a comment about him being dead as he has to perform this song infront of the whole school. As Finn is worried about performing this song infront of the entire school Rachel and himself come up with a “creative and preemptive strike”. The scene then falshbacks to Rachel and Finn making posters and talking about artists to which Finn says “who is justin Timberlake?” Rachel then explains while photocopying the posters which will stop them from doing the assembly. The scene then changes to a meeting with Figgins, during the meeting both Rachel and Finn shoot confused glances and looks at one another. They were both let off with a warning as long as they pay off for the photocopying, they both nod in agreement.

Finn apologizes to Will, as they walk out of the office and Will walks away, Finn tells Rachel that he will be dead because of this disco performance. Rachel reassures Finn saying that he is really talented, he then says “maybe it will all be okay” and she then asks him if he could practice with her afterschool. Finn turns down the offer as he has a Celibacy club meeting instead and walks away. During the Celibacy meeting, Finn admits that the only reason he joined was so he could get into Quinn fabrays pants and that it is also a productive way to get to know the guys about their sexual issues. Finn tells the rest of the guys that he has made out with Quinn and gives advice to Jacob, saying that it is not a problem. Finn and puck both high five each other with a laugh and then in the voice over admits that it is a big problem. In order to cool down, Finn explains that he thinks of the time when his mum first taught him how to drive and he hits a mail man in the road. In the celibacy club meetin Finn is paired with Quinn with a balloon in between them, the balloon breaks and Quinn gets mad at him, he gets embarrassed and says “it must of hit my zipper!”. Rachel calls a meeting in glee club, about their performance, Finn defends Rachel and Rachel continues the meeting. The glee club then performs Push It at the assembly.

Later, Finn and Rachel rehearse, Finn then asks Rachel if they could take a break and both of them sit down on a pinic blanket that Rachel had already prepared. Finn tells Rachel that he wants to be good at singing like her, he admits he first thought that she was annoying and checked under his bed every night to make sure that she wasnt there, but the more he get to know her the more he realised she was cool. Finn also admits that the first time he heard Rachel sing it touched something in his heart. They both flirt a little bit and dicuss the drink they’re having and the type of cup they are using, he then makes a move on her by reaching over and putting his finger on her lip. Rachel asks Finn that he can kiss her if he wants to and in reply he says he does. They both lie down and begin to kiss. Immdiatly Finn pulls away from the kiss and the scene flashes back to when Finn hit the man with his car. Finn quickly sits up and tells Rachel not to tell anyone what had happened and leaves as fast as he can. During Take A Bow we see clips of Finn and Quinn by their lockers talking and laughing while Rachel is singing in the background.

Acafellas

In acafellas Finn is concerened about what had happened, as Rachel then explains what happened with Dakota Stanley Finn then yells at her for making Will leave about what she had said about his choregraphy. Finn then defends Will by saying that guys normally get hurt like that, dont take it personally. Finn continues to blame Rachel as she is the only one with a plate of sorry cookies. In the next scene Finn chases after Rachel to tell her there is no way she can hire a better choreographer. As Finn and Rachel walk together, Finn is slightly confused as to why Rachel is acting the way she is and why she cares so much about winning. Rachel explains that glee is her one and only shot, where as Finn has football and Quinn. Finn then brings up the moment from the auditorium concerened that Rachel may also be upset about that. Rachel begins to work away and says that she has moved on, he then asks if she wants to talk about it. Rachel decline and walks away leaving him speechless. After a few minutes Finn threatens to leave glee club as Rachel insists on hiring Dakota Stanley. Later Finn walks in to Will’s office and tells him that he is also quitting glee aswell, Will then explains that he didn’t quit glee club and Finn tells him that he might as well because it is getting crazy and he tried talking some sense in to Rachel, but it didn’t work.

Finn admits that it is hard being in the quarterback huddle and that all of the guys are calling him names, he also says that glee is bringing down his reputation. Will in reply tells Finn to stay in glee a little longer as Finn is a good performer, Will also tells Finn that if he quits glee club, he will regret it for the rest of his life because Will has been there himself. Finn then tells him that glee club isn’t fun anymore, but before he walks out of the office Will calls him back over and says that he wants to talk to him about something. In the choir room with Puck and Will, Finn is practising dance choreography for Acafellas, Finn suddenly trips and Puck begins to insult him. Will suggests using different techniques to improve their dancing, Will then shows some moves to help them and as time went on their dancing got better and thanked Will for the help.

Later on in the choir room Dakota hands out some custimozied menus, after some glee members take insults off of Dakota, Finn speaks up to defend them but immediatly stops when he gets insulted himself with Dakota saying he is freakishly tall.  After Dakota talks about being winners or not Finn says “screw this, i quit” and walks out of the room followed by some of the other glee club members, but before they leave Rachel tells them to stop and tells Dakota that being different is what glee club is all about. After firing him Finn smiles at Rachel after he realizes that what she said was true. In the next scene Finn thanks Will for always believing in him and then  the Accafellas perform I Wanna Sex You Up.

   Preggers                                                                                                                                                 

In preggers Finn finds out that Quinn is pregnant and thinks he is the father as Quinn tells him, but in fact Puck is the   real     father. Finn tells her that its impossible as they never actually had sex, but Quinn lies again and tells him it happend when they were both in the hot tub. Finn being naive he trusted her every word. Puck who is Finn’s best friend is the real father as he got Quinn drunk and then slept with her. However Quinn is unwilling to admit the truth and tells Finn that he must support both her and the baby. Finn is completly unware that Quinn is planning on giving the baby away to Terri Schuester after it is born, who is currently faking pregnancy. The pressure of football, a baby coming, his attraction to Rachel, Glee and school quickly becomes to much for him.

Ballad

In ballad Finn is paired up with Kurt to do a duet much to his disomfort because Kurt is gay and attracted to Finn. However during their practises Finn finds himself asking Kurt for advice about relationship and baby problems. As Kurts advice may seem helpful Finn is unaware that Kurt is trying to manipulate him and hoping that Finn will fall madly in love with him. Following Kurts advice, Finn begins to sing to the ultrasound of his baby, his mother come in to his room and sees him singing. Finn breaks down in to tears and admits that Quinn is pregnant with his baby. The burden of hiding the fact that Quinn was pregnant was lifted from his shoulders. Unfortunatly its only causes more problems for both Finn and Quinn when he sings a ballad in front of Quinn and her parents and lets it slip that she is pregnant. They kick her out of her home as they are angry at this news and she had to go and live at Finn’s with him and his mother.

Sectionals

In sectionals Rachel becomes suspicious as to whether Quinns baby is actually Finns and come up with a plan to find out, after getting and answer she confronts Finn at his locker and says “
